Default 2011 LTX 1046 will not start

So I bought this back in December for next to nothing. I knew the battery needed replaced, and the starter was suspect as well. I went ahead and replaced the battery and starter, and for preventive measures, replaced the starter solenoid. It obviously sat for a while, as the emergency brake will at times stick. It would start fine until a couple weeks ago. Now, sitting in the seat, and with the brake depressed, when you turn the key, it does absolutely nothing. The emergency brake light on the dash will illuminate as long as the key is in the “start” position. I have tried to clean the plunger thing that the e-brake pushes in, but don’t know what else to try. I am sure it is something simple, but I am out of ideas. It has the Kohler engine, manual PTO.

TIA for any ideas!

Not familiar with your mower but is the pto switch in the off position?
if been setting, most all things that move tend to stick as you have seen.
Might want to do some some circuit trouble shooting with your
continuity/ Volt/ohm meter following the wiring diagram to find the exact
place the circuit no longer is operational.
A lot less expensive that way, then loading up a parts cannon and blasting away.

See if there is a fuse or two.

Maybe your tractor model/year is listed here for wiring diagrams: https://www.ccpartsnmore.com/cub-cad...ing-schematics

As George said, It is continuity meter time.
You will have safety switches at the seat, the PTO, and the brake.
And maybe 8 or 10 more I am not aware of. Time to make
sure all the switches are clean and working.

Just for fun I am guessing the seat switch. I hate those things.

Thank you for the ideas! I’m quite sure the seat switch is ok, as it was working before and I haven’t messed with it. I’m in Ohio, and it’s downright cold here right now. I won’t be able to get out there and mess with til the weekend, but I will respond after I am able to look at it. Thank you again for the responses!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
