RZT 42 mower deck height issues
This is my first post so I apologize if this is the incorrect place for this. I have an pre 2010 rzt 42. The mower deck height adjustment does not seem to be working properly. While I can move the lever through all the selections, the deck itself only moves between the two highest points. If lowered from the highest point, it hits the ground after being barely lowered. Moving the lever to any lower selections does nothing. And the opposite. If I move the lever to its lowest point and then try to raise the deck, it does not engage and start lifting the deck until I get the lever almost all the way to its highest point. Something seems like it is not quite right in the system. Even on its highest setting I am cutting my grass much shorter than I would like to. Does any of that make sense? Any advice or help is greatly appreciated.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
