Default XT1 tranny

3 year old XT1 ST54 tranny blew out , when i say blew out , i mean it blew a hole outward , no noise, no warning , just stopped moving , thought i broke the drive belt , no it was on , then thought it hopped the pully , nope , then i noticed the oil under the tranny , hole big enough to stick 2 fingers in and the innards are all gnarled up inside

bought a new mower because i cant not cut my grass for a month , so i have questions

i know the X2 and i believe the GT enduro all use the same chassis , are the transmissions the same as the GT and X2 or are the beefier and if so since they share the same bones can i upgrade to the heavier tranny assembly

if i go up one size on tires front and back will that cause added stress to the tranny , i still have the stock tires but they are crap , i punctured a front with just a piece of gravel in the driveway kind of crap so if im buying new i would like to go a size bigger front and back

are the trannies a known issue or did i get a rare/uncommon failure , wasnt for lack of oil given the puddle it left , something just let go and stripped everything into gear soup

im a tad worried , i have a GTX 1054 i used for 13 years , the mower deck finally wasnt serviceable anymore so i figured i would just use it as a tractr for smaller stuff that the New Holland is just a over kill for and bought the enduro , cuts beautifully , but a 3 year tranny life span isnt exactly appealing , if it was a fluke thing i can put it behind me , it happens , nut know i have two lol

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
