Default Z71 54" Zero Turn Break Shaft Issue

Mornin
First Thread here. Had my Z71 for a few years now. Very little use though. Only issue I have is the Break Shaft keeps walking out disengaging the transmission. I've spoke to service centers in Both Nevada where I purchased it and now here in Tennessee not one service Shop has heard of this. The Shaft may stay in for and acer, or 100'. You liberally rock the mower back or forth just a bit and push it back in and everything works as it should, no noise, no turning issues, nothing. But when the shaft comes out 1/2" the LH transmission disengages turning you left, right then and their.. Not a drop of oil has ever came out. Anyone have any ideas.. Thank You in Advance

What you are referring to as the brake shaft is actually called the motor shaft because it goes thru the motor portion of the hydro.
In the first drawing, you can see your brake cog (#52).
If you follow the line you will see that it ends up on the shaft (#33).
The other drawing shows the shaft as #73.
In the first drawing, you will see on the shaft a part #31, or part #71 in the second drawing.
That part is a snap ring, it is located on the inside of the side case of the housing.
My guess is that your snap ring has come off or is broken.
To inspect/fix would require removal of that side cover which would likely require removal of the hydro from the mower.

Your the FIRST person to actually answer that question. Ill pull that off this weekend. The Service Center in Las Vegas which now does not service Cub Cadet any longer were the ones that told me Break Shaft so that is why I was asking. I figured it was either snap ring or possibly a shear pin internally but wanted to get that straight before opening it up. Thank You....
