Default Quick question

Does a 3205 or a 3225 have a metal hood, side panels and grill? TIA

All 3000 series machines are all metal. I think they learned from the cyclops series that plastic was a big mistake.

The 3205 has a liquid cooled Kawi FD620 engine and the 3225 a Kohler Command rated at 22hp.

Thank you Oak, I have a lot to learn about the Cubs and I appreciate those that have gone before sharing their knowledge on this forum. I was sure I had seen a few of the more modern looking tractors with rust on the grill or panels. The particcular tractor I was looking at was listed by both model numbers I listed but it was an obvious dent in one side panel that prompted my question.

BTW, which is the better tractor?

I stay away from the plastic clad units except for possibly an engine swap. I have 4 1872's and not looking to mudy up the herd, unless it would be a 2072 but then they have the same dna.

I have a 3205 with the liquid cooled Kawi and is a great little engine but it's hard to beat a good running Command engine too. The 3000 series are great mowing machines but I like my 72/82 series for garden work.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
