Default 1782 Hy-Tran coming out of dipstick vent

Hello all, I’ve had my 1782 for a couple of years now and since day one at least once or twice during the mowing season it will puke hy-tran out of the vent hole in the dipstick. It kind looks like a small geyser ?. Anyway I don’t believe it is overheating because the oil is only warm to the touch and the rear case is only warm. Any ideas would be appreciated.

My guess is that you need to remove the fender pan and fuel tank and give it a good cleaning. Next if you have not changed the fluid and filter do so.

Other possibility is that it's overfull. Just a thought but at some point in it's life someone my have replaced the dipstick with one from a GT and they are about 1" shorter than the Super dipsticks.

The 1st pic is what you will probably find when you remove the fender pan.
The 2nd pic shows the vent that was incorporated into the later Cyclops series.
The 3rd pic is how I add a vent if it doesn't have one.

Sam you are the cyclops guru. That first picture is almost exactly how mine looked before I fixed the leaking fuel level grommet and front hydro seal.
The last picture is what I believe i'm going to do to mine as well. It's an early model and the only vent is the dipstick and I'm thinking it's just building more pressure than the small hole in the dipstick can remove. Did you drill and tap a new hole or use an one already there?

I drilled and tapped one of the bolt holes that are there for the rear PTO. This was an 1882 that I did. You'll also notice how far the dipstick protrudes into the case. Check yours when you have the cover off.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
