Default Replacing Rear Tire - Floor Jack Placement

Greetings!

Nice Forum here!

I have a 2015 Cub Cadet XT-1 LT46 and I need to change the (flat) rear tire.

I spoke with their Tech Support as to where to place the floor jack and was told to place it in the center of the box (transaxle?) where the two axles enter. He was adamant that I not under any circumstances use the Axle as a support point as it can bend.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Lyman

Yes, I would say where they told you or the rear hitch would be another spot.

It's not wise to jack the back end up in the center because the front axle pivots in the center and once the rear wheels are off the ground the tractor will be unstable.
Sooooo......jack it

Gear doesn't matter, just lock your parking brake.
Pry off the black rubber hubcap, you will see a 9/16" bolt.
Remove the bolt and slide the wheel off the axle.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
