Drive belt length for 50" deck on a 1872?
The title says it. I've been mowing with a 60" deck and have forgotten what size the 50" deck uses. Maybe the same length as with the 60" deck but I don't know for sure. I'm sure I wrote it down somewhere but battling cancer for so long has left me with a fuzzy brain. Perhaps one of you using this setup can shout out the size or number. Thanks much, Steve

Thanks Sam, that's what I needed. I found I had two belts on hand and with help from a couple of fellows from church I was able to get my lawn mowed yesterday. They set up the tractor and mower and I mowed. When I get on the tractor and start mowing my pain seems to melt away. It's a good feeling!

Always remember when you are mowing to never smile , we do not want people to think we are enjoying ourselves

I guess I had better stop singing while I mow too.

I usually shout out the theme from "Green Acres" when mowing or driving a Cub around the yard, drives the Grandkids nuts!!
Sometimes it's just great to be my age!! |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
