Another new guy - near Cincy - Hello
I own a 100 that I use to trim mow before using the 185 or the EX2900. It is a about a 63 model that my dad bought used in 1965. I presently run a Tecumseh 11 hp on it but I have a rebuilt 12 hp Kohler that goes back on when the Tecumseh wears out. No complaints on the Tecumseh. A lot of things I don't know but I know where to look for info.
I fabricate and rstore and repair old trucks. |

pics of Tecumseh in CC100
There is an aluminum spacer about 2" thick that came with the engine that the OE flywheel bolts to. It has an electric starter and the engine charges the battery thru the OE voltage regulator.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
