HELP!
Hey all,
just joined, and needing a bit of help, on a Cub Cadet I'm looking to buy... 1. The owner has no idea on this 102's age (no builders plate found). 2. Need input for a approximate total value for the tractor and included implements. a) 48" Mower Deck. b) Plow Blade. c) Roto-Tiller. d) Cultivator. f) Rear Wheel Weights & Chains. Tractor runs (rough) but owner is installing a carburetor kit, this weekend. TIA for any & all input. |

I don't know a price to put on it because it is very subjective and varies from location to location. But I do know that it appears to have a sleeve hitch on it, which adds to it's value. Those wheel weights alone around here go for $120 to $150 a pair. And the attachments you list are all very desirable for both users and collectors. It would be quite a find, good luck on it. |

Sounds pretty intriguing. As said the whole thing is pretty subjective
to what it looks like and what you are trying to do in buying it. Are you looking for a tractor to just put to work right now? Looking for a restore project? Resell? Is it rusted? Does the tiller turn, and is the belt there? I guess what I am saying is the value depends a lot on what you want. They all cost a bunch a money after you buy them. That's all part of the fun. Ken |

102 tractor with mower deck - 350-500 plow (assuming you mean rear moldboard) - 150-200 tiller (with rear gearbox) - 200-300 cultivator - 100 weights - 75-100 chains 35-40 As a package I'd want to get it for 700-900. (but I'm El Cheepo) |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
