And if you ever participate at a plow day......
You will have that left side handle or whatever it's supposed to be stuck up in where you wish it wasn't!! |

Strictly a mower but what left side handle? Do you mean the chair railing or the deck lift handle? The whole point of the chair is for that railing to keep you from sliding off the seat on an embankment or when turning a tight turn.

Well, if you never plow, don't worry about it.

I adapted the factory seat safety switch to the new seats safety switch mounting bracket. Really just a matter of carefully enlarging the hole in their plastic bracket until the old switch popped in then reinstall their plunger cover and she's good to go.
Update - I had to remove about 3/16" off the top of the switch plunger to fine tune it. Works as advertised now.

Hard to believe but I mowed my lawn with a different tractor for the first time since 1993 when I bought my Craftsman LT4000 brand new.

Have you been able to ascertain why steering is heavy
Seat looks good , the later models came out with arm-rests on the seat Oz

Once I put on the front tri-rib tires and positioned the new seat so I sat more over the steering wheel instead of behind it where I was reaching for the wheel the steering got much better. I still think the steering wheel is too thick but it is what it is.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
