Default Here is new wide-body fender set for FEL project!

I painted the underside of the fender set yesterday afternoon with Mayan Gold. Flipped it over this morning and shot 5 coats of Cub Cadet Yellow. It will get some extra special embellishments before I finish it off with 2 coats of clear with orange/copper flake and then another 4 coats of straight clear for the final finish. The wide-body is 2.5" wider and 1" taller across the fender lips.

Bill

I added a little airbrush embellishment to the fenders. Maybe a little more then clearcoat and copper flake and more clearcoat.

Pretty fancy! I like it. Will the rest of the machine get the nice embellishments?

I need to be careful and not get carried away, but so far I like it.

Well it turns out I did get a little carried away. I figured there is nearly zero parts on the FEL project that haven't been modified so some custom paint fits right in.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
