Greetings!
Hi All!
I'm Eric, and I've recently joined the ranks of Cub Cadet owners. Prior to this, I was aware of cub cadets (my parents had one) and that they are yellow. I found this 2015 XT1 LT42 at a yard sale a few weeks ago for a very low price and decided to take the leap. After a quick test ride I brought it home, not knowing anything about them other than it's a yellow lawn tractor and it runs. It had a few defects upon arival. The steering wheel was loose, because the bolt was never tightened. The hood topper was deformed because whoever installed it did not line up all the tabs before locking it down. The deck had about 2 gallons of clippings stuck to it and some rust, probably never been cleaned, and the belt was spliting. And finally the valve cover leak. All these have now been remedied, and I'm getting it ready for next spring. I'm looking forward to years of use. Eric |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
