Anybody ever replace fron Oil Seal in a Kohler?

Looking at a used 2554, seems like a pretty good deal. Guy says it has "major oil leak" and claims it is the front seal. This has the Kohler in it and some interent sleuthing seems to reveal the replacement isn't too tough. Getting to it is a whole 'nuther story apparently.

Anybody ever done one? I'm trying to find a tractor to do some leaf cleanup so want something that will take a bagger.

I really want a 1641 like I used to have (should have never sold) but can find no evidence that it has a bagger attachement available.

I'm mechanically inclined. Rebuilding a 48 willys and just recently put new cam and heads / gasket on a B&S Intek on my 0 turn.
