The Sabre is built on a John Deere STX frame. It is 26 years old. My late grandfather bought it to maintain his 1/3 of an acre. He never had an issue with it in the 11 years he owned it. And I have never had an issue with it either. It is actually more reliable than some MTD-made Cub Garden tractors I own.

Surprised to see that you don't have any Bolens in the mix

There were a few Bolens dealers back in the day. But Bolens was never very big in the area. Trying to find a used one is nearly impossible in the area. I'd love to find an H16XT, HDT-1000, or a Dura-trac/DGT-1700.

I could go pick up two restored Bolens right now about 60 or 70 miles from here, but one has a Wisconsin engine and the other has a Tecumseh. Neither engine I want. Wisconsin's were great packs in the day, but like Onan, they are too expensive and time-consuming to maintain, and I hate pre-1980s Tecumseh engines.

But at this point the barn is full. I really have no more room. If I want to have an inside workspace.

I just enclosed my back outside staircase to add about 110 square feet of storage space for attachments. I only store a 3-point cultivator outside; other than that, every attachment is stored indoors.

Furthermore, I would even add Ariens GT, HT, and Gravely if I could. Also not all of my collection is even here. I have several in-display storage at a car condo I own with my brothers. But my space there is full, and they have their cars there.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
