I am gonna look for a 982. I think the 1872 is probably the most common.
I'd like to hear some opinions from the guys that know a lot also.

personal I own a 2072, I have not seen one more around the area but I have seen about 6 1872's for sale in the last year. The 2072 is nice but basically it would come down to what was the best deal if I was looking again. keep in mind if it has rear pto and or cat O, it will add about 500-600 for each. I figure a gas super is worth 1000 for just the tractor, 400 for a blower or Haban deck, and 300 for a dozer blade. But a diesel would be worth about 2000 again just for the tractor.
The tractor and attachments would have to be in operational condition and if any thing would be needed the parts to repair it would be subtracted from the price. I guess I forgot a few attachments 1000 for a tiller and 500 for a front broom. Plastic weights are a buck a pound and steel weights are 2 bucks a pound. The smaller deck would be worth 200. I think these prices are about the average that I have seen. Area matters though and your area might be more or less. Good luck

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
