Blade in the way? But want to leave it on?
Had some solid round stock laying around and got to brain stormin on how to make a front blade "lock" that will stay in the up position. Thus giving me freedom to use the rear lift, loading tractor on a trailer and having no worries of the grandkids dropping the blade while having some seat time out in the field. Do to the fact this 149 has no front PTO,accuator and lever I used the hole in the frame where the accuator slides through. With the lift rod removed and my little fab work this is what I came up with being the tractor is used only for pushing, pulling or towing. I can add a lock at the float area to insure it stays while young operators enjoy the seat time or plan to use myself using the rear lift.

Kevin,
If you deside to make some of those locks, I'd buy one.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
