Default new guy in md

Hi

It is great to be of this Webb Site , with what I believe is the greatest lawn tractor ever made. I have a 1969 cub 105 that has a 12 hp motor on it but has been behind the shop for many years now. Maybe I can start to restore it now. I may some along the way . I also have a 1979 1450 with a new 14hp motor, that has mowed for 30 years now. The only problem was the motor and that had a ton of hours on it, it was time for a new one. I do 95% of my own work on my Cub. Thank you for letting me take part in this site.

Welcome to our Forum........

Glad to have you here. One minor correction.....the majority of Cub Cadets are GARDEN tractors and IH did make a few lawn tractors too. The 105 is a Garden Tractor.

Hope you do get the 105 back running again.

The 1450 is a nice tractor also. I had one for a few years. Just sold it this spring when i brought home a 169.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
