I'd say between 600 and 650.

SwampRatt:

IH said that the Model 100 with a 175 lb operator and a full tank of fuel weighs as follows:

Front = 325 lbs
Rear = 440 lbs
Total = 765 lbs

I have never understood, why IH thought it was important to come up with a 175# operator.

Seems, there is the weight of the tractor and the operator knowing his own weight, could add that to the weight of the tractor IF the threshold needed to be known.

IMHO, it would have been more simply to just state the weight of the tractor, filled with fluids.

This is purely speculation, but maybe it was to show that the rear end had more weight to it than the front end if you factored in a person sitting on it. Since weight on the rear of the tractor is important, and most of the operators weight would be on the rear, it seems like better marketing to tell you how much more the rear weighs than the front when you're sitting on the tractor. Just a thought, I could be very wrong.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
