Rough weekend too!
My family and I drove all night friday to get home from vacation. Found out one of the neighboring clubs was having a pull not far from the house, made a couple calls to see if I was legal there, all was good so we decided to go for the fun. My son and I show up and the competition doesnt look to bad, we figure this could be alot of fun (win some cash!) He drew the 4 spot and we watched, set up our weight, found our spot on the track,(the hard part) and hooked up. My son pushes the clutch in and dear ol' dad puts the pin on the shifter to hold it in gear. He pins the throttle lets out and he's gone. The hook looks awesome weights right, he's got good traction, I'm thinkn we got this. Then it happened, at about 250' bang motor revs up, tractor not moving. I thought driveshaft, but to my horror the pin that dad put in had uhh fallen out, thus our great hook was ruined by me. What was going to be fun has now haunted my thoughts for almost 24hrs! Oh well lesson learned, take your time, this could be the best hook you ever get.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
