Factory options for the 124
I'm restoring a 124. It's my first Cub, and I'm addicted.
I was wondering about all the factory options that were available for this tractor. I plan on adding the 3 point hitch and creeper. I see some factory drilled holes in the rear. There are a couple holes on each inner fender I'm not sure what for? Also, I found this pic on the net. Is this an original tail light setup? I noticed mine has the holes in the same place, just wondering if the one in the pic is original? Are there any other add ons I should be aware of? Thanks, Ed

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
