more iso mount questions
I examined the ISO mounts I pulled out of the 1650 last week.
The first pic is of the nicest one. 3 of them are in close to this condition and they actually look better in person then in the pics. The second is of the next step worse. 3 of them are in about this shape. kinda beat up but still look pretty good. Then there's 2 that are shot. The third pic has a little "hill" on the ridge of the metal part of the mount. are all the mounts suppose to have this? It was only noticeable on 2 mounts. What do you guys think? I think I could use those 6 and find 2 more and it would be good for awhile until I maybe restore the tractor or rebuild then engine later someday? I just don't want to spend the $80 bucks quite yet but if I have to, I will.

I'll be interested in what the other guys have to say, but for me - I wasn't comfortable using some older rubbers with some newer ones.
Besides, if you think you're going to be back in there in the not-too-distant future, it'd be a good time to try out the cheaper aftermarket ones for $20 for the whole set. That's my rationale anyway - I'll be putting the 1650's engine in the 1450 for a while until the project is ready for its engine, so that'll give me some time to try out these aftermarket mounts in the 1450. |

I would just get 4 new OEM mounts and be done with it; don't waste your money on the chassis mounts. If you do the cradle mod at the same time, they should last quite awhile. I have really not seen many 'good' used mounts...they're all kinda squishy and worn out at this point.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
