123 trunnion
OK, need some assistance here with the trunnion on my 123. I'm going to rework it to get it to work smooth once again.
Well I redid the one in my 147 and it works exellent, did it in the tractor, but now that I got the fenders off the 123, there's no way it's coming off to be repaired with the room that's there. Do I have to take the pump out to get at the trunnion? Or is there a secret to it? Thanks

You only need to partially split it not complete remove it.After removing the fenders and the seat pan as one unit or remove the fenders, then the round cover that is on the left side, and then remove the 6 seat pan bolts.I put jack stands under each footrest to keep the tractor slightly off the floor.Disconnect the hydro and brake linkage and tie it off the brake linkage to the filter so it stays above the rockshaft.Remove the bolts holding the tranny on.You only need to slide it back 8"10" to expose the trunion. You may have to guide the drive shaft through the hole in the cover plate under the dash tower.
Have fun.

Thanks guys for the advice. Got it apart and welded up and filed back to where it should be. Just waiting for parts, I bought the last set of springs and end caps from my dealer when I redid my 147.
Parts should be in Friday, then put it back together and hope everything works as it should. Let's hope so anyway!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
