The front end of this thing makes me think of the '06/'56 series International's.... with the way the front end is almost straight up and down.

Maybe you could fab a grille and headlights like the wheatland versions had....

I dunno, just a thought! Lookin' good Sam!

Boxed off the tops of the hood supports just to give it a bit of a finished look. Decided to borrow the seat from my 2182 for a test run before I go any further with it. Hooked it up to one of my 60” Swishers for the test. For some reason the charging is a bit erratic it goes form 14.5 volts to 18, checked to make sure the ground on the VR is good so my guess is that the VR has some sort of issue, may try a Kohler VR that I have to see it fixes the problem. Also need to re-check the steering box because it binds up once in a while but all in all a good test run. Big thanks to Leadslingingdaddy for the 24X12X12 rear boots, they hook up great!

Got the steering box re-adjusted and replaced the Vanguard VR with one from a Kohler. All good now Big Thanks to cubs-n-bxrs for the VR tip. Now it sits dead steady on 13.5 volts it was running from 12 to 18 yesterday. This is not the first Vanguard that I've seen with this issue.

Looking good Sam, why only one Swish, not two Swishers!?

I will bet it is nice mowing with a machine where the tractor engine is not powering the mower!

Does the rearend howl like my 1861 when you are pulling up a grade?

This one is nice and quite. I'm very happy with it so far. The tractor has an easy job towing the mower, probably only running about 1/4 throttle.

Sam,
The UD is lookin' good. I really like the angle of the hood/grill assembly. Can't wait to see some more progress pics and the finished product!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
