If I were you, I would wait about 6 months before putting gas in and starting it so that the paint has a chance to cure for awhile first. This will lessen the disastrous effects of a fuel leak on your shiny new paint job.

Georg,
Looks awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope you dont have a problem with your clutch. I did an O once and painted the clutch and had nothing but problems until the paint wore off the spring and fork.
You couldn't find the correct fuel line? They are on evil pay.
Keep up the good work.

Wow - I wonder who could actually do that? Finish such a big project then wait six months for the payoff. That'd be torture.

today was the big Moment, the Engine from the "O" runs for the first Time. Tomorrow, i bring the Cub to the Engine Rebuilder, fot Final Carb Adjustment.

But the best Moment was the pretty Rainbow after the Rain, in Front of my Garage Door,

mfg Georg

What would be worse is having a fuel leak that destroys the paint on the tank, engine, frame, etc. and having to take it all back apart again, and repaint it all. Even really good paint takes a while to cure well enough to resist gas spills. The next one I do, I will wait this long.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
