Todd,
OK I see that this is a major concern! I have never taken one of these transmissions apart. Most of us don't have too! These were made to take a good beating. Sorry you have some damage in there. I would agree with others it doesn't look like you should put it back together and run it. I know you did not want to hear that. Real easy for me to say its not my tractor. Take lots of pictures, get a good manual for dissassembly and assembly. I think you can do this with the support of this group of CUB experts! Regards, Chris

Going to pick up this 102 tomorrow. I found it 2hrs. away.
I'm going to use the rear out of it for my 100 project, don't worry I'm not parting it out, just borrowing the rear for now. I also am getting a push blade with it, this one is complete! Here's the pictures the PO sent me, looks to be a nice tractor. (for the money)

Todd,
Good move on the 102. Looks to be a nice tractor on its own. I have one that is barn fresh and does not look that nice. Hope the rear end swap goes smooth. Regards, Chris

Got the 102 home. Heck of a nice PO, everything is as he described. His uncle bought it new, but when the paint looked a little rough he got out the paint brush for the yellow. But I've seen worst.
And I finally got a sub frame for the plow, actually the whole plow, but the old boy welded a side shield on the one side, so my (old) blade will be put on. I'll get pictures later.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
