Ok happy ending it is. I took a screw driver to it. Then Compressed air, yes I wore safety glasses they were needed. The. Degreaser and water.

The hydro lines were HOT to the touch on my test drive. Wonder why. Lol

Rear pic. Also cleaning this showed me that the nuts on the front of the hydro that tie to the frame were gone.

After another test drive the hydro stayed MUCH cooler.

That's absolutely great to hear! I love my little 782D, the only trouble with them is you end up wanting a diesel in everything

Thanks guys.
I was jumpin for joy when it fired up. Still gotta fix the drive shaft and steering. Then go from there.



Here is a pic of why 1 of the brakes is not workin. Look close and you will see half of the shoe is not even mounted on the bolt. Ha. That's ok I gotta rip the rear wheels off and go through the brakes yet anyway.

Congrats on getting the beast running. Figured the engine wasn't toast because these little smokers will pretty much run forever with proper maintenance. So I'm assuming it was bad/dirty injectors? Looking good getting all cleaned up. Now you need some ags and a three point hitch.

It's not because they were dirty. They were obviously shot...... Dirty doesn't really apply to a straight spray injector. Only to direct inject motors. Even then, it only affects spray pattern. Not atomization.

Ha yeah steelers are not doing a lot better.

Well the compression tests were a little low but I'm wondering if that's because the engine had not been ran in quite a while. I don't know if that affects the test or not.

I had the help I needed by comming to this site. Is there an average hours that an injector is good for? Is 1000 hours a good maintence interval for an injector?

Depends. All injectors are different. I've seen them with thousands of hours before they go bad. I've seen them with 1000 hrs go bad. Lots of variables. I'd say, on that engine 1000 hrs is probably about right. Still, I'd run it until they showed signs of wear. If you want to pull them every 1000 hrs and have them tested, then that's your choice. It will get harder to start, and smoke at idle for a while when it's cold when they get worn out. I'd be willing to bet that if the guys with smokers pulled their injectors and sent them off, they would find that over half of them would fail the test. Injectors often get overlooked as a maintenance item. So, the answer is yes, they do have a maintenance interval. Either the Kubota dealer or an injection shop should be able to tell you about how long in hours they should be good for.
