I finally got to hook this up and it works good. Checked it against an optical tach and they read the same.
Hooked the green signal wire to the - side of the coil and set the tach to one cylinder. I also have two other tachs to play with as soon as I have time.

I finally got some spare time today to mod the Farat RPM, He work very well! All I need to do now is adjust the 1650 carburetor for a lower idle, as soon I finish all adjustments and fitting in the dash, I post a video were you can see the timing light rpm beside the Farat and compare.

Now I need one of those 4000 rpm unit to play with

Default hall effect?

Just thinking... this is what happens when you're an insomniac.

Has anyone tried a hall effect sensor to trigger an analog tach? The magnets could easily be embedded into the drive hub or clutch plate.
Someone smarter than me could figure out how many magnets it would need.

Can anyone spell half the things he said? That schtick has been around awhile. There was also a Chrysler Turbo Encabator.

Although I do not remember my high school chemistry lessons but I do know enough about transmissions to have realized in the first few seconds that this video was complete nonsense. It would have been hilarious if youtubes AVE was the actor.

Still leaves the question. Hall Effect Sensors?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
