Tim, good the hear the "Viking" was up to the "foot tall" grass. Can't judge a book by it's cover.
Master of Lew, you be riding in style with that cushy mower. Armrests and all.
Nancy rode around on the 782 again today. This time sweeping with the Agri-Fab. Should be cutting next week...

Very nice place you have there! Is that some sort of Silo to the left of the picture?

Beautiful! Maybe a windmill tower on the left and perhaps the other dome houses your telescope for star tracking. Only a guess.

I can only hope that my lawn looks that nice one day.....

The tall building to the left in the first picture is a water tower. There is a large cypress water tank on the third level that used to provide domestic water and feed a fire suppression sprinkler system for the large home that used to be on the property. The building on the right is a carriage house with one box stall and 6 straight stalls. I restored that building about 10 years ago.

The building in the second picture is called the Gas House. It originally housed an acetylene collector to provide gas for lighting throughout all buildings (think carbide lamp). I formed and poured a new foundation for it and had it moved to its current location. I am restoring the building now.

All these buildings were built in 1892. The property was abandoned in the '70's and vandals burned the house in the late 80's.

Thanks for the comments.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
