Saturday I took out my 1440 with the bagger and did the first mowing of the year, and cleaned up the leaves left over from last year. I forgot to take new pictures, so here’s one from last year.
Sunday I got my 149 running for the first time since November and used it to aerate the hard.

I built a nice exhaust for my father's kinda 1872
I put a 27hp kohler crate in it last year. Unfortunately there were so kinks. The factory exhaust from the crate exited under the hood produced a lot of unnecessary heat. So I built a header that a v twin deserves. It's not much if any loader than the factory muffer but...way nicer and better sounding it's 1.25 primary with a 1.75 outer packed with 2 stroke exhaust packing. With a full port H -pipe ? She sounds nice ! No obnoxious ! Still gotta get the 12"cooling fan wired in along with the new lights buts almost ready to slay the yard. Can't wait till she has a 60" deck to here that v-twin bark ahh! I'd add pictures but have no idea how to do that ! I'm also on a phone so ya idont know?*? site is not awsome for a non intellectual pipefitter ahh |

I tested out the reel mowers that came with my Farmall over the weekend. I just greased them, didn’t sharpen them or anything yet, but they worked great. I just hooked up 3, which is 60”. I have two more yet that would make it 72”. They worked great, but not really practical for our yard. Too many tight spaces and obstacles to mow around. It was fun though. I had to use use the 1810 to mow the areas I couldn’t get to. Usually it takes me about an hour and a half to mow the whole yard. With these I had about 90 percent done in about 40 minutes, the maybe 15 minutes to finish with the 1810.

Over the past several weeks the 149 has been working hard at turning just less than an acre of thick dandelions and daisies into a food plot. Three rounds with the tiller two weeks apart. Then a heavy float to level followed by a weighted mesh float. After that I seeded, a light float, then rolled it with a homemade cultipacker. I had picked up a cultivator a couple weeks ago and I was very impressed how well it levelled the bumps off.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
