Purchased an Original a few months ago. I finally found a set of wheel weights for it and after a bit of sanding, priming and painting I was finally able to install.

Got CC 70 running for 1st time!!!
Today I got my IH Cub Cadet 70 running for the first time in 20 years! I bought it last Fall for $50 after it sat in the previous owner’s shed for 20 years. After installing the new fuel lines today I managed to get it started. Reverse, 1st, and 3rd gear worked, 2nd gear didn’t work. I had to hold up the brake pedal up to drive so it wouldn’t make this odd noise. The brakes worked when applied. The mower deck belt snapped somehow before I even tested the mower deck, probably just because of old age. Here’s a list of all the parts I’ve installed over the last 7 months: spark plug, head gasket, carburetor rebuild, carburetor intake gasket, coil, fuel sediment bowl, fuel lines. I also resurfaced the cylinder head and cleaned the gas tank. Here’s a list of parts that I still need to get: ignition, air cleaner, I also have to figure out the throttle and change the oil. Thanks for all the help you guys have given me through this project.

model 70 running again
I got my model 70 some time back now, was running good and has the mower deck under it.
So as I needed a place to store it and my brother was in need of a mower I let him use it, well it was only about 6 months and it locked up on him hard. So I got around to it to check into how bad it was, pulled the engine and put it on my new made stand so I could pull the head. pulled the tin and it was a mess , got it power washed and pulled the head off next. lots of carbon to be seen every where, piston was near TDC but it was all one pice so next came pulling the pan off to see what the inside looked like? it was all nice and clean with no parts damaged or missing, next step was to try to get the piston to move by the use of a block and hammer. after some carful use I get the piston to move like it should ,and it looked good to go as it was. cleaned the carbon off the piston, valves, and oiled it all up good and put it back together and got it to fire up and run nice. does smoke some when I give it gas or back off But none that I can see when it is running. So that's what I've done to my cub today. Its not good as new But it's running and that's more then it has been in the last two years, went from to may need to replace the engine to will run it some more. So I'm a happy camper and no I will not let my brother near my cubs again.

Nearly finished 126
Restored this 126 around 2015/16. Just got around to installing the rebuilt PTO and creeper gear. Got a sleeve hitch adapter, sleeve hitch pin, lift arm bracket and brass pto button from Jeff. Only thing it needs still is a spring assist
