Dad and I got the drive line together and this week will start to make this Ol tractor look more than just a pile of parts. LOL.

After many months of cleaning, sand blasting, electrolysis and just plain elbow grease things are finally ready to begin the reassembly process. our 102D is at the moment scattered across the garage and three sheds. I can't get over the shine of that new paint. The frame and fenders are almost a mirrorlike reflection. We are both going to cry when the first scratch comes along but for a worker machine it is going to happen.

Thanks Martin, Nick and Allen. I said to Dad the other day when we get him all done I think I'll just park it in the shed and put a cover over it just to not scratch it LOL.

We are anxious to get all those pretty parts back in their proper locations. This old girl has been a very hard worker for a looong time. I used this tractor as a regular mower, a snow blower and wood hauler. I hauled wood from about 3/4 mile for many years. Eric also put this old girl through her paces at a bit faster pace than I did but old 102D still ran when we took her apart. With new parts to replace the worn ones she should be good for another 48 years. I can't wait to see her in her shiny new paint all back together and running.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
