Tacosteeler, I'm really glad you were able to get the smoker going. My 1512 is one of my favorites. Won't be long and you'll be looking for another.

Since were off subject a little. Enjoy.
Ha I don't doubt it, my diesel craze started when I put a Yanmar on my original. It was a lot of fun to fire it up and listen as she "knocks a lot" which is also what I named that CCO. I have a few vids on You tube of it running. Wanna see some funny sh!t, watch how I start the Yanmar. I will try to post a link. Check em out. Don't forget to turn up the sound. You'll love it. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=JNz1Xf41qkE https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=VdwGmYLXW2w

I've watched that Youtube video before and thought it was a cool idea and neat mod. Of course, didn't know it was yours. Nice job on the O conversion. So I guess this is your second smoker then. I really like the vid of the cub idling along by itself. Hadn't seen that one before. You'll have to start a thread over in the General Section with some more pics of the O. I know I'm interested. BTW, I apologize for the thread derail.

Great videos. Love the ingenuity of camera placements and starting it. Watch out for the safety police. I did see a couple of infractions

Injection pump screw
Here is a close up of the idle screw. The spring rides onto the end of the rack on the pump.

Thanks guys. Yeah I documented the whole mod. I will work on getting it up.
I'm not worried about a derailing, would like to see it put behind us though. Over n done. The safety police would stone me for those vids. Lol, maybe we can keep it on the DL. Ok I see, will have to keep that in mind.

Idle screw
Tacosteelerman, just to let you know, if the rack moves to the right as viewed in the pic, that is the more fuel direction. The shut off lever pushes the rack towards the left, or less, and or no fuel. If you turn the screw in, or clockwise that will put more spring pressure towards the more fuel direction. Mine is turned in and I can make it put out a considerable amount of smoke under heavy loads but nothing noticeable during light loads. I also use a relay to power the glow plugs to take the high amp load off of the ignition switch. Hope this helps and not confuses.

Yes that does make sence. For the short time I ran the 1512 it did smoke under a heavy load. I still have to complete my glow plug conversion with the relay.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
