Nice work man! I'am worried about sealing up the case. I would like to suggest using something other than a blue rtv sealent between the metal and cork.
Indian Head Gasket Sealer is fool proof. The stuff is a dark brown thick liquid that is about like molasses. You would smear it on both sides of the metal case and let it tack up about 20 minuts. Set the gasket: it will stick pretty good. Then I smear the sealent on the top of the cork and let set up. Then assemble.
I'am sure you have it covered, but just giving a opinion. Once I started using Indian Head, I never went back to silicone blue rtv-type stuff.
I keep thinking how nice it would be to have a restored IH # 1 tiller on back of a restored IH Cub Cadet! = Awesome!

Default Tiller update

John,
I like your suggestion now to find this sealant that you mention???? Any ideas who might have it? I have not searched the web yet.

And by the way I am ready for it tonight Yea assembly could begin soon. I may wait and try to get some Indian Head first.

I did order a used 90 degree gear box and adapter plate today from AJ . When that arrives I will have some more clean up to freshen it and check it out. then on to belts and setting up a mule drive front plate for one of the tractors. That 102 looks like a good candidate.

Hope things are good in cub land.

Todd asked me what the next project might be? Well I still have a deck to do for the 147R. Or a front push blade Resto?? Then If I get that #1 cart that would be cool too. So lots of ideas not enough time energy or funds.

Regards,
Chris

Default assembly

Less talk more action. Had trouble loading pictures. Gracie was right in there helping too riding the 102 and me for a while.
I am pretty much surrounded by Cubs right now.
-Old and new dust covers! Pays to get some good used parts!
-Used small zip ties to hold the carriage bolts till I could get the dust cover on the main drive shaft. Must be a easier way to assembly these??
-Don't forget to put the drive chains on as you slip the shafts in place. BTDT!
-Have to take the top bearing back apart, forgot to put in the spacer and the pivot plate.
-Also will pick up some longer bolts for that connection.
Regards,
Chris

Cub 123, Thanks! A couple coats of paint hide a multitude of sins.

AJ, nice to have some good used parts to complete this build! Looking forward to my next package too.

Cad plans: SST hardware is a nice shiney add on to the build, for show and go.

Duke: need a picture of the #1A tiller you have.

Hope to get some time on it tonight. Would like to get the case built up and ready for tins.
Regards,
Chris

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
