I love my taters! With our soil it's hard telling how it going to turn out. It's past the bloom stage and about 3 weeks from plant die off as I was told theres a 3 month production until you harvest. This is my first year of growing them and it will not be my last! I take my shovel out there and dig around the base of the plant and looks for the larger taters and leave the rest and make sure to bury them back up when your done. I'm going to keep going down the row and keep harvesting them until the plant dies off.

As long it's alive you can harvest the taters as needed and it will still produce taters until the plant dies off. Most people like their reds smaller then their yellow and whites. I just like them covered with butter!

I like your way of thinking but it seems like a lot of work.
Since I planted more potatoes than ever have I want to make things simple.
so, this fall Im going to make an investment on a 3pt tater plow.
I can hook it up to my Bota' and make short work of it.
Lazy people find easy ways. I guess.

Nice Rattlesnake pole beans. That's the same variety that I always grow. (Though it looks as if you have about 10 times as many plants.)
