Can't wait to see your pics, Sam.

Randy

Considering that the 92 vintage 1782 had a $10,380.00 sticker price equipped with a 60" deck I don't see why they didn't just go all the way and put front hydraulics on them as standard equipment. Not like at that kind of $$$ it would have made much difference. Oh well I don't need them anyway.

Great looking tractor! I am working on a JD 332 smoker which is the same as the 1782 but with front hydraulics, (four of 'em). It is a 1987 with 570 hours total on it. I have it taken apart and the nuts and bolts still are bright silver plated and there is no rust on it. It came with four brand new tires and nothing is broken or missing. I am at a point where this is such a great little tractor that I might have to sell the CC 1811 and keep this thing. Finding a little diesel this old and in this good of shape is so rare that I am having a tough time making the decision. These little three cylinder diesels are like a Swiss watch and they are so great to hear! I love that rattle and clank!

REAL Nice job Sam! I wouldn't leave it idling too close to the road for too long.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
