Pulled a fence out with the 129 today, it never even grunted hard. I don't know how I lived for 50 years without a Cub.

I finished rebuilding both gearboxes on my 450 blower and got it reassembled and mounted on the 1862. (There's got to be an easy way to get this thing on!) Lifts great and is almost silent when I engage the PTO. I won't say I can't wait for winter, cause I can, but I will look forward to blowing some snow with power steering and hydraulic lift when the time comes. Decided against an entire refurb right now. I wanted to make sure everything was working right. It's pretty simple to tear down and in decent shape. I don't know if Matt G's position of "they're only original once" is rubbing off on me, but I kind of like the look of the "good, used condition". I should have some pics up, if the wind and rain stops today.

Rebuilt the trunnion on the 149 today. One thing to remember is when dealing with spring, DON'T LET GO!!! It's hard to find them in the grass.

Also installed the used Relief Valves I bought a while back. Old ones were stuck.

Very nice!!! You have a great pair to have helping ya work. I wish I had some of that help. How about some more detailed shots of that O with the trailer, looks pretty snazy! I like your blade on your 682....any more pictures of it....perhaps action shots??

Well I started working on the 14 hp motor tonight I got the set screws out of the PTO without a whole lot of problem. I noticed that it has 2 friction dics, and 2 of the flat springs on it.

Besides priming stuff for my 1872, I discovered that the 46" deck on my 782D does not have bagger blades on it...so I'm surprised that bagger worked at all. Now I need to put the bagger blades on it and try it again...I should be able to go more than 1 ft/second without it plugging now:biggrin2.gif:

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
