I have been wanting to put a 50C on my 782 for some time and last week I dug out one I had bought last year. It did not look too rusty so I lubed it up, sharpened the like new blades and mowed with it. It worked fairly well but was noisy so I decided to swap out the bearing housings that had the water pump style bearings with a set of the later style I had. I decided to clean under the deck plate and was shocked to see that it was paper thin from rust. I found a really clean 50C yesterday from a CC used parts dealer I have been using and installed it today. I am amazed how nice it mows and how quiet it is. We had 3.5 inches of rain in the last week and I was not able to mow until today. The 782 equipped with a CH20 Command waded through the tall grass without breaking a sweat. I had been using a GT46 deck before and it works the engine much harder in tall grass than the 50C. I think I am really going to like this deck. I also put a set of 26-12X12 ag's on the 1650 loader tractor and started modifying a set of spindles for trailer hubs for the front so I can run a set of 18X8.50X8's on the front. That is how I spent my day with two of my cubs.

Here in michigan you never know what the weather is going to be like. I spent most of my life working outside year round. I leave the snowblower on the cub, and my winter carhardts close by until the 4th of july. Today we were cutting down dead ash trees and hauling the wood to the splitter. Temps were in the 40's all day.

Decided to hardwire in my towable sprayer. Ran the lines to a nice chrome pull switch I mounted above the ignition. Then I ran them to a hole drilled under the seat with a quick connect on it so I can tuck the pigtail under the seat when the sprayer isn't hookedup.

I put the repaired hydraulic line back on the 1864 and replaced the bearings in the used spindle I got to replace the one with the missing ear for the 54GT. I rebuilt the other 2 spindles last week. It got a set of Copperhead blades. They look fantastic for $35!

I might try the 54 out on the 1864 tomorrow before I take back to my uncles 1863. I wonder if my uncle would notice if the deck shrunk by 6"?

My wife commented the other day that she was going to get out her loader tractor to do some clean up in her flower gardens. I guess that means she approves of it. You know what they say happy wife = happy life. She uses the loader almost every day working in the yard and gardens. The loader has been a real help to both of us lifting and moving things. Yesterday I used it to carry the three point drag I made to the shed to store it and carry the 60 inch mower deck to the shop so I could pressure wash it before installing it on the 1872.
