I, I you are correct Bill. The part of the bearing the collar locks onto. Plus the collar is worn equally.
I don't see any worn marks on the shaft though. I PB'd the crap out of it (bearing) and been tapping on it trying to get it to move some, but no luck yet. Just wanted to know if I was missing something seeing it wouldn't move, even a little.....
I'll try it tomorrow after an overnight soaking...

My bearing looks exactly the same. If your saying the eccentric it self is wore (I don't know what a new one looks like yet), than I have a thought. Since I was the last person to put the bearing and collar on the driveshaft years before I found OCC and the free manual, I don't think I tightened it up enough/correctly. I think being loose/incorrect, they may have wore on each other. I really "previous ownered" myself on this one, thankfully I have seen the light of OCC and will be fixing it correctly.

I guess calling it a lip on the driveshaft is the wrong word. Mine is only worn on one side of the shaft so it looks like a lip. Sorry it's not very clear, but in the pic on the left side of the shaft where the bearing rides there is a sharp decrease in diameter, on the right side it is smooth. I am pretty sure it confirms I didn't have it together correctly. It was hard getting the bearing over that worn spot.

Todd I had to use my bearing splitter/puller took to get mine off but they are roached most of the time. I actually got two of minefrom tsc that came with a new bearing and locking collar, for 5/8 shaft. Although oe bearing is fatter the tsc one sandwiches in to those plates well and they have eccentrics. Unfortunately the bearings I rebuilt mine with from tsc are chinesium I think but both of my Os with rebuilt clutches are running them with no issues.

Thanks for the heads up guys
I never thought of the bearing puller this morning I was going through my tool box trying to figure out what to try next......oh, bearing puller came right off.
Cleaned up the clutch and drive shaft. Chucked it up in the drill press. Worked great. Need to do some more work on the drive shaft yet. Not doing a total rebuild of the clutch, it worked great before, so leaving well enough alone.
If I need a rebuild down the road, it would be easy enough....

Pulled in one of the donor tractors, needed a few things. Another stuck on front pulley so this time I put on the puller, it was coming off come heck or high water. It came off.
Makes life easier drilling the set screws out in the drill press. Also pulled the deck to get the "good" parts off of it. The shell is roached, but I do have another one on the other donor tractor that has a good shell.
Think I'm going to start sand blasting the frame, dash tower, front axle and grill shell this week. Depends on the weather....

Got the pulley set screws drilled out and re-tapped in 1/4-20. Found some set screws I had, don't know if there the correct length or not, but they'll do.

Got the tires removed today to sand blast the wheels. Are these the correct wheel for the "O"?
Got back on the hood, to finish the welding. The area of the hood that goes over the catch had notches worn into both sides. Cut out a couple pieces of metal and welded, to fill in the notches. Blasting next, little filler and good to go

Looking great Todd, nice detail work. Makes me want to do my hood over. Yes those wheels are correct part number, for 6-12. (IH 376189 R91) Thanks for the update.

Thanks, I'm starting to feel the need to get this project going again
As I said in an earlier post, I'm doing it to the "best" of my ability, and that's all I can do.....

I just read through your build. You do awesome work!

I hope when I eventually tear into my 105, that it is half as nice when finished, as your O is right now

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
