yeah you do!!! all your stuff is nice sam, you do it the right way....thats what i was saying in a different post... i just buy a plug wire kit for a V8 last one just happened to be accel (red though) and then i have wires forever for small engines...usually enough to make 32 wires or so..depends on which one of course.....nice tractor though....you definitely set the bar as far as how to take an older machine and make it function as close to brand new as possible...or better....

I'm just too cheap to buy the proper tools to make a decent crimp for 8 plug wires, and I like to support those that support keeping the Cub thing alive. The wire is Taylor stuff. I'll let you guys know how they fit and work as soon as I install them. Cold is an understatement for the weather here the last couple days.

New to Cubs and been reading 'bout your work. Wow!

I thought I was cleanin' and working all the time but, after viewing this post of yours, I'm a part timer for sure!

From day one, loved the older red Cubs. I have a real negative opinion of MTD. My sons and grandsons laugh when we see the uneducated looking at Cubs in Home "Cheapo."

If it warms up a bit today I'd like to get the cap and rotor back on and put the wires on. Then I can light it up and get some pics for you guys. Only 23 here at the moment, no heat in the shop. I'm old and I don't do cold real well.

Sixty-seven here and I don't mean fahrenheit either!

Living in a bank barn isn't the coziest in winter but, the lower (shop) section has a ceiling mounted LP gas heater, 'bout 55° maintained, works.

Well it warmed up enough today so I got the some work done on the Big Dog. New plug wires are on and the rebuilt PTO is back on. Must have done something right because everything works. New wires made a difference, it runs better now. Next on the to do list is rebuilding the battery support. I have the steel just need to remove the old support, cut out the rotted section and weld in the new plate.

Thanks for the comments Mr. Nick. I've had fun saving this poor tired old Dog. Should make a good worker for my daughter and son in law when it's finished. It will never win a beauty contest but it will kick the butt of a big box wanna be tractor any day.

I think you need alittle snow down there. Your yards looking bare. This time of year when most people are saying it's time to put on the plow I don't think that the style they are talking about.

I bet those wires added some serious horsepower. You should try a few stickers. That usually works good too for a few more horse. Lol

Seriously though. It looks good.

I have the snow weapon all ready to go should the need arise. I'm hoping it will not be needed. I'm doing my hot weather dance but trust me you don't want to see it LOL.

I know Owego all to well. Spent about 8 hours sitting in the rest area on 17 just because I didn't have a log book while driving a Freightliner FL-60 on my way to Watkins Glen about 5 years ago. Screw DOT.
