I fired up the 982 & tiller to chew up some sod to level out an area to install a fire ring. I was a bit concerned about moving the ring, but once I got it stood up, it rolled nicely up the hill about 100'. I had my wife 'handy' when I layed it down and all is well.

I pumped out the gas tank, removed it, and cleaned it. Then, cleaned out the fuel lines, shop vac'ed the dirt around the motor / steering area. It began to starve for fuel this past Friday and this morning was the first opportunity I had to track the problem. The Ox Was in the Ditch! Thankfully, it's all better now!

I pulled the 3-point off my 782D to fix what I thought was broken, and it turns out there was nothing broken at all...just some play in the rockshaft. I put the bagger blades on the 46" deck, greased the spindles, and cleaned and greased the wheels on the deck. I washed and waxed it while it was nice and sunny, and it's much shinier now. I made the little bracket we've been discussing in another thread that is supposed to increase the lift height of the mower deck. I haven't tried it yet, as I'm removing slop from the front axle and installing new Heim joints in place of all of the worn tie rod ends. I also put the thrust bearing in the steering gearbox, and I've discovered that something is binding in the gearbox, so I guess that's coming out tomorrow
 I need to finish my IH tiller/Cat-0 adapter for this soon so I can cross one more project off the list.

Got some plant food made up for one of my 6 gardens. I water this way too because for me, it is eazier than to hook up all my hoses, drag them out and then put away. And its just that much more fun for some seat time!

Not much posting last couple of days. So.....
What did I do with my Cub today? Well, nothing - too hot. But Sunday I changed out the carburetor on 104 number 2 (I have two 104s) and now it runs great. It has a 3 point hitch on it, and I'm going to either make or find a helper spring. I have a line on a box blade, new - never has touched the ground, for $50. I'm going to buy it and this 104 will become my box blade tractor. It and my 123 with the snow blade, will see some ground moving action. I have a 122 and the other 104 as my mowing machines. A 2135 that I probably will sell or it will be my trim mower. Another 2135 that has a busted transmission, but I have one in SB, Indiana that I need to go get. A 125 that I will probably sell and a 123 that needs an engine that's for sale also.

Yesterday I pulled the steering column out of my 782D to go through it. It had always steered kind of hard, and the addition of V61 front tires amplified it. I removed, disassembled, cleaned, and reassembled it. The top bearing balls were fine, but the bottom ones were lightly pitted, so I replaced the balls with new ones from McMaster-Carr that I bought last year. I also added the Nice 605 thrust bearing. I then replaced all of the badly worn tie rod ends with new Heim joints, and adjusted the toe-in. It steers much easier now, and the wheel centers itself when I let go, so the toe-in must be pretty close. I'm also finishing the IH tiller adapter for this, so I'll update that thread tomorrow.
