Default 1811

thanks, had just under 1000 hours on it when I got it in march this year, pre owner took very good care of it and said it had never set out in the rain. I had to replace the idlers on the deck and sharpened the blades and it was ready to go. Also replaced the bearings in the jack shaft on the deck, it has the 46 inch deck and mows just like a new one. want to add rear lift on it for a plow and tiller.

I have been taking my time cleaning, adjusting, and customizing on the 1712 and it's engine.

Tonight, I bolted the original muffler back onto the KT17 Series II, as my custom made 'dual exit glasspack' has blown all of the fiberglass sheeting out, and is nothing more than a metal can! (Too loud to use for mowing or pushing snow without ear plugs.)

Then it was time to tighten up the steering box, and the front axle. Then grease the steering box, axle, and spindles. I also put some grease on the end of the driveshaft.

Then I used the engine hoist the gently set the engine back in the frame. The driveshaft is hooked back up, and the engine is bolted down.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
