Default My 71

My 71 with a K301 engine and craftsman blade...

Pic from last year...

I'm replacing the clutch spring and throw out bearing, for the coming snow season, so the engine is out..

The old spring and bearing was replaced around 1982, when I got the Cub..
Tsk.Tsk....!!!
Only about 30 years...
(it has been with me longer than my wife )

Here's my 1450 I got back in June. It's my first Cub Cadet so far. The engine has been re-mounted with replacement mounting bracket and new ISO mounts courtesy of Patton Acres. The IH logo was missing when I got it (probably melted anyway!) so I replaced it with a cast aluminum emblem from an Original that had been parted out. I love this thing! Now that mowing season has wound down, I'll be putting the IH snowblade that came with the sale on it.

Would it not have been easier to paint the blade to match the tractor rather than painting the tractor to match the blade??

Looks GOOD!!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
