Been way to busy to post or even scan the forums lately. A couple weeks ago I pulled out the 127 and tilled an area for my neighbor, then put the blade on it to scrape it down. Worked really well, like a mini dozer, I need to get some Ag tires someday.

Well after I got home from work this morning, I put the blades back on the deck that I got sharpened last week when I ordered parts. I also hooked up the battery charger just to make sure I don’t have anymore problems when I go to start it. And this afternoon when I get up I’ll head over and get my carb parts, put them on, put the deck on, and take this baby for a spin. I hope all goes well. This would be the first time it has worked properly since I got about a month ago.

She is a go. I finally got everything going and it runs and cuts great. Now all I need to find is a reasonably priced snow thrower for her and it’s complete.

Last night I tore apart my 42" cast iron deck to fix some holes in the sheet metal. I noticed that the deck has a bow to it and needs to be straightened. The baffles are gone too so I'm going to make new ones. All of the bearings look good but I did have to make a new spindle and another one has the keyway worn a little. The subframe needs some work too.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
