How does you 850 handle down the highway? I love the feel of a GS being a sporty little bike around town. Just curious because I had a 450GA that would do 45 mph max in a 10 mph headwind. I always thought it was because it was automatic until I got a 500cc Honda CX that wasn't a big fan of highway speeds either.

I am 6' even and weighed about 240lbs when I rode my 450 everywhere (10-12k a,year). I rode it from VA to OH (6.5 hour trip) once and 2 hour rides from home to school every other weekend. I could climb a 5% grade at about 60mph wound out in 4th gear. 6th gear almost never came into play till flat ground and 70mph. It is a small bike that is easy and fun to really toss around but it is no mountain carver like my 850G. It goes very well in snow due to the low amount of torque and skinny tire.

The 450GA had become a bit of a rarity, I would like to get my hands on one one day

Edit: Just realized you asked about the 850. The 850 and 1000 are pretty much identical so it is a heavy bike. It is very solid and stabile in the corners and has by far the best factory seat I have ever ridden. It has a fairly long stroke for an I4 so it is torquey from about 3k+ RPM. I long to have a 6th gear as 75mph at 5.5k is a little buzzy and noisy but the shaft drive is smooth as silk with virtually no torque slide.

Wish I would have kept it then. I traded it and the CX500 for my Shadow last year. I bought one 450ga without a title that had sat for 15 years and one that had been laid over pretty bad. I took the two of them and made one rideable bike so I was just happy to get my money out of them. All I can say after all of it is I'm glad cubs don't have valve adjustment like the gs bikes do.

Cool bikes guys. I'd like to find an Old School bike. Thinking about a Honda CB1100. Sort of the best of the old and new. Had the Can Am RTL out the other day for the first time this year. Gonna do a couple suspension upgrades to it. Adjusters for the coil over front shocks and a heaver sway bar. Ride Safe.

That Maxim was givin me nightmares for a couple days, instead of a normal 'Choke' Yamaha decided to use Mikuni carbs with a "Fuel Enrichment Circuit" that supplies fuel at startup until the engine warms up, was a bit of a learning curve for this old dog but after having the carbs off 'Twice' if finally did get it starting properly so hopefully I can get it sold now.

Default 2007 Road King

Here is my 2007 Harley Road King. I've had it since 2008, a bit of mods to it but not too much. Two-tone color....black and chrome! Lots of chrome accessories, it's like a chrome grenade went off beside it. Without a doubt, there are 30 lbs of extra chrome bits and pieces on it, bolt-on and chromed engine/lower-end parts,

Power Vision with map
Fuel Moto Heavy Breather
SuperTrapp Stouts
Beach Bars
PIAA driving lights

You guys think Hytran is expensive! I run Redline in all three holes, synthetic engine oil, synthetic gear oil (Shockproof) and synthetic primary oil. Keeps the 1930's tranny technology quiet which is a feat in of itself.

Have bought a full set of rear Ohlin shocks for rear and Ohlin cartridges for front fork to replace the '40s suspension technology, hopefully making this couch a better performer when I need it. That is this spring's project, $2900 worth of Ohlin stuff.

Here is a pic from maybe 3-4 years back, before the Supertrapps. The Supertrapps put a nice rumble to it, since they've burned in they sound great.

Yep Harley thinks suspension means hanging a new trinket on the bike. I had Penske shocks and AK-20 cartridge kit in my Night Rod. Made a world of difference in the handling. You'll be glad you did the upgrade. Sweet looking ride Buddy.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
