I had it angled to pull the gravel off the edges and think maybe a little too much speed was involved. It just bent the one side in, should straighten out pretty easy. I think I need to adjust the sleeve hitch up to get a better angle too.

Well today started out to be an easy project that went totally in the crapper. I was just going to pull the battery support to paint it, that went very well. Then I noticed a wet spot under the engine. Wonder what that is? A little searching and oh goody the water pump is starting to leak. Getting at the water pump in a 2182 or a 1782 is major PITA. You have 2 choices pull the engine or pull the radiator. Well I went for the radiator. Got it all apart. Ordered the new pump $110.17 and a gasket $4.20 plus UPS from the Bota dealer, should be in Friday. Yep I know they can be rebuilt but at this point I don't want to deal with it. Part that sucks is when I had the engine out I thought about doing the pump considering I was doing all the hoses and the fan belt. No that would have been too much like smart.

Pretty much finished the 2182 today. It went back together better than it came apart. New water pump and all. Now it just needs some little odds and ends tidied up, a little touch up paint and a good cleaning. Then it will get put to work with a 60" Haban. If it runs OK then I'll spring for some new boots for it.

That's the good thing about OCC, we all learn from each other. I like the Supers, they just have more room to get your paws into so they are easier to work on. I learn more on everyone I work on so they just get easier to do. Later this year I'm going to pull the engine out of my other 2182 and do to it what I've done on this one. The wiring on the other one is a patched up mess and I learned a few tricks with this one that will be applied to the other one. It's a fun hobby and it keeps me from getting in trouble.

Still need to finish rebuilding the deck for my O and then my 149 needs a little TLC, cork gasket leaks like a screen. Just a bunch of little things I need to get finished this season.

Lucked out with the weather today and finished just as it started to get cold. Snowing at the moment and it's supposed to be cold all of next week. At least it's not as bad as New England weather. Now I'm gonna park my fat butt in the recliner and watch Na$crap at Daytona.

Ordered a set of 18x8.50-8 V61 HD 5-Rib 4 Ply's from Miller today. They will go on my other 2182. The tires and wheels from it went on this one. Already swapped the rims and tires from #1 to #2 . Tires have been dismounted by the local tire shop, charged me a whole $5.00 to dismount them and will mount the new rubber for $5.00, not worth the aggravation for me to even try to do it myself. I'll clean and paint the rims, then have the new rubber mounted. Happy, happy, happy.

Hung the 60" Haban under it today and gave the poor old girl the smoke test. Guess I did something right, nothing blew up. Also painted the front rims, they should be getting new boots Tuesday and then they will go on the other 2182.
