I don’t recall I purchase parts from several places but bag was sealed. I had to cut it open.

I was just curious. ThE OEM switch is the same as any IH tractor switch, and can be gotten from several places for a good price.

IMG_5286.jpgNot too much progress. Waiting to get the tires mounted before installing the engine.

Reconditioned the steering wheel and throttle knob and also installed a new lift lever hand grip that I got from Lew.

Wheels and tires loaded into the truck to be dropped off tomorrow morning. A local small tires shop does all my work is very good at minimizing any scratching or chipping to the new paint.

Little delay on the tires. The local mom and pop shop is closed this week for vacation.

I need to connect up the ground cable correctly. It was mounted to the screw where the VR mounts, but I have read the correct location is the bolt for the S/G.

Which bolt?

The one where the bracket mounts to the block or the one where the bracket mounts to the SG?

Either bolt is fine, the rear one usually is the easiest to reach. Are you talking about the heavy ground wire coming from the battery? If so, yes, the rear bolt for the S/G mount to bracket is fine. Make VERY sure that the mounting point is free of paint and rust. The lug on the cable should be flush and tight against bare metal on the mount.

Ok so I got bored waiting on the tires being mounted so installed the engine and connected everything up except the ground to the battery. I did connect up the other end of the ground cable as you guys suggested and then checked for continuity to any of the bolts on the engine block and it looks like I have a good ground connection.

Maybe tomorrow I will fire it up.
