I got another Cub yesterday. It's a 126. It will be my mower once I get a few things fixed on it and get my 42" cast iron deck fixed up. It is missing the PTO engaging lever and linkage so I need to fab up something there. Anyone have any good pics of that?

Here's my new 126. It needs a little work. The frame has been butchered to fit a 14 hp and then someone welded in some scrap steel but didn't get the frame straight. I'll cut it out and fix it right. The sheet metal is all really straight so that's a plus. Engine seems to run strong (12 hp) no knock, no smoke.

Got my 123 (with the #1 Tiller attached) and tilled part of my garden. Then, sharpened the blades on a Yazoo push mower, on my Snapper push mower (cleaned the deck while I was there), and on the 123's mower deck. Had to work like heck to get the nuts of of the Cub's blades. I don't think they had been off in years. Also lubed the spindles and cleaned the deck. I need to find a deflector chute for the 123 deck.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
