Got a good start on the electrical system for the 2264 today. Hope to have all the stuff behind the engine finished tomorrow so I can plop the engine in place. Salvaged a lot of the factory wiring and repurposed it. Weather was awesome, if I was smart I would have been out ridding the bike instead of playing with a tractor. Oh well I want to get it finished.

Tee shirt weather today in the shop, I'm lovin it.

Sorry I forgot to take pics today. The CH22 is in the Cub. Most of the wiring is done. New fuel in is in place. Drive shaft is in. Tomorrow I hope to finish the fuel system, new tank bushings, reinstall the shut valves, filter. Makeup the plug to connect the wiring to the engine. Battery cables etc. Then give it the smoke test.

Sam, just make sure you do not let the smoke out, you know how hard it is to put it back in!!!! I am not looking forward to rewiring my project. The PO really has it messed up. He actually had a household light switch hooked up to the pto and another switch hanging under the dash that as fsr as I can tell also was hooked to the pto clutch. The CH22 should really wake up the 1864. Will this be your main mowing tractor when done?

Smoke test was successful, everything works as it should. Gotta go and pickup some tranny fluid now.

Tranny oil and filter changed, stuff that was in it was NASTY! Probably should have popped the rear cover off but I figure I'll let that go till I put the rear end braces on. The starter relay took a crap so I just went with the factory setup. It works fine without it. Next on the list is to tidy up some wiring and put some split sleeve on it and build some sort of battery hold down. Battery that came in the tractor is almost new but it's the wrong size. Then it's on to putting the fenders and hood on with the new grill. Once it's finished I'll run it for a season before getting into making it pretty.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
