Default Here's my two !!!!

Picked up this pair over the past few months. The 1715 will be my mower. The Original will be my show-er. Both were loaded with options, like loose bolts, mismatched wiring and parts that just simply SHOULD fit, but won't thanks to a previous owner's "fixes". Been having a ball going through them and letting them run the way they were intended. My son helps me work on them so he's learning a lot also.

Default Work in progress

Here's what mine looks like so far. It wasn't in too bad a shape before I started. The 50" deck was the worst ( It took quite a bit of welding and hammering to get it looking sort of like new.) I've used it for mowing since I got it over 20 years ago. Thought it was time to return the favor and pretty the ol'girl up a bit.

Nice 982!

Today I decided to start my 149, haven't run it since I got it 8 months ago cleaned the carb, fresh gas, and she fired right up! I can see why so many like the 149s. It's a smooth running little tractor

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
